The programme is designed for recent graduates who intend to pursue a career in professional accounting. It will also benefit those working in non-accounting areas, who seek a thorough education in the principles and practice of accounting. The programme emphasises on substantive and operational knowledge as well as the skills and competencies for an accounting professional/practitioner. Additionally, the programme has been accredited by global accounting qualifications such as HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia, CIMA and AIA.

The MAcc programme aims to equip students with the following:

Contemporary knowledge of accounting

Analytical and critical thinking skills to solve real business problems

Fundamental knowledge in professional ethics as well as business and company law

An understanding of the accounting theory and the latest developments in accounting practice.

^The course ACCT7550 Integrated Project is designed only for students who have obtained appropriate training on research (proof is needed) and would like to take an individual graduation project concentrating on intergrative application of accounting knowledge if approval in advance is granted by MAcc Programme Office.

Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking admission to the MAcc programme should be:

申请进入MACC课程的申请者应为：

- Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized tertiary institution; or

- Holders of a qualification deemed to be equivalent.

持有认可大专院校任何学科学士学位；或

被视为等同的资格的持有者。

Note: 说明：

Applicants bear the responsibility to confirm with HKICPA that their Bachelor’s degrees are recognized in meeting the student registration requirements of the HKICPA QP before applying for admission to the MAcc programme.

申请人有责任在申请入学前向香港工商管理学院确认其学士学位符合香港工商管理学院质检计划的学生注册要求。

Expecting Bachelor’s degree holders who will acquire the requisite academic qualification before the programme commencement may also apply for admission.

Both business and non-business degree holders must satisfy the Pre-core programme requirements prior to their completion of the MAcc programme. The Pre-core programme includes courses on Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Management and Statistics. Applicants should have demonstrated in their official academic transcripts that they possess fundamental knowledge in these areas. Students may also satisfy the Pre-core programme requirements by taking equivalent courses in other recognized programmes. Participants with deficiencies in any of these courses must take, at their extra cost, the prescribed Pre-core courses (which are no credit-unit courses with pass/fail option) to satisfy the competency requirements for admission to the HKICPA QP.

商业和非商业学位持有者必须在完成MAcc课程之前满足先修课核心课程的要求。先修课程包括会计、经济、信息系统、管理和统计课程。申请者应该在正式的学术成绩单上证明他们在这些领域拥有基础知识。学生也可以通过在其他认可课程中采用同等课程来满足核心课程的要求。任何课程有缺陷的参与者必须以额外费用修读所订定的先修课核心课程(这些课程没有学分只有通过/不通过)，以符合进入香港注册会计师项目的能力要求。

Selection will be judged on the basis of results in official academic transcripts and supporting documents. Also, interviews will be arranged to further asses applicants' qualifications.

Applicants whose Bachelor’s degrees are obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is not English should also fulfill the following minimum English proficiency requirement:

a TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based test) or 79 (internet-based test); or托福 79

an overall band score of 6.5 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS)雅思总分6.5

Pre-core programme: $5,000 per course.
