Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Genomics and Mathematical Modeling

Columbia University Medical Center.

The Rabadan Lab (   https://rabadan.c2b2.columbia.edu/   ) is a multi-disciplinary team at the   Columbia University Medical Centerconsisting of computational and evolutionary biologists, appliedmathematicians, physicists, and physicians. As part of the Departments ofSystems Biology and Biomedical Informatics, we collaborate with clinicians andpublic health researchers from around the world to explore several diseasesystems, focusing particularly on the genetics and epidemiology of infectiousdiseases and cancer. As part   of the Program for Mathematical Genomics we arebuilding a vibrant community of researchers who use insights and techniquesfrom computational topology and biological data to solve pressing biomedicalproblems.

We are now seeking postdoctoral researchers tojoin a creative team in a collaborative environment developing mathematicaltechniques for the analysis of high-dimensional, high-throughput sequencing andbiological data.

Candidate qualifications include:

●PhD degree in any quantitativescience (preferably mathematics, computer science, physics, astrophysics,computational biology, statistics, or engineering) is required.

●Expertise in high-throughputsequencing technologies is highly valued.

●Experience with clinical data fromlarge biobanks is also highly valued.

●Candidates should have a workingknowledge of programming (Python, R, Java or C++) and statistical analysis withdemonstrated experience in problem

solving.

●Practical knowledge of algorithmsand databases is required.

●Excellent organizational and communicationskills are a must.

【项目简介】

联合国大学(UNU-WIDER)联合国访问博士奖学金项目正在邀请世界各地的博士生申请一个资助机会。利用UNU-WIDER的资源和设施进行他们的博士论文或论文研究，并在共同感兴趣的领域与UNU-WIDER的研究人员合作。博士研究生通常在UNU-WIDER连续学习3个月，之后有望返回母校。在Helsinki期间，博士生实习生要准备一篇或多篇研究论文，并就他们的研究成果举办研讨会。博士实习生也有机会发表他们的论文。

【选择标准】

1.申请人目前必须就读博士课程。

2.申请人必须具备对发展中经济体进行研究的能力。
